Its no longer news that Wizkid performed to an almost empty hall in Abuja on Sunday the 20th of October 2013 but that the memory will go down as an unforgettable day in the diary of Nigerian star boy and ladies man Wizkid a.k.a Mr jaiye-jaiye. Empire Mates and an Abuja based event company, the organizers of this relatively hyped concert in Abuja tagged the mother of all concerts “The Abuja Invasion” .
Headlining The concert was “WIZZY” himself alongside other label mates like Skales, Niyola, Shaydee and guest artistes like Phyno, Jaywon, Tilaman e.tc and Abuja acts were Tekno, Bad Guyses, Dj TTB and the comedians billed to thrill the fans were Gandoki, Funnybone,Chuks d General and Triple White. The venue was the International Conference Center and the show was slated for 5pm with a regular fee of N4000, vip N10000, table for N300, 000 and N500, 000 respectively, which should be normal fees to whisk from the pockets of Abuja big boys and girls, but lo and behold as at 10.00pm on Sunday the 20th the International Conference Center had more empty seats than people in attendance.

Feedback from fans of the star boy quickly points to the fact that lately Wizkid has turned his twitter page to a “yabis” ground for his fans and lovers of his music. Recently he lashed out at a fan on his page as being “poor” which did not go down well with majority of his followers and artistes alike. J-martins was quick to remind Wizkid not to forget that he was once like that before success smiled on him.
Did you see the list of the artist on the flyer? Why would I loose sleep for that considering the fact that am going to work the next day?.
Wizkid on a sunday!! does he really think he is worth the stress?
The fear of BH in Abuja is the beginning of wisdom.
I didn't hear about the show at all, I would have attended with some of my friends.
who is Wizkid again? *sarcastic look*
The publicity was poor.
Am happy that happened to him and for calling his fan poor, though the publicity is nonsense
These are few reactions from Abuja residents, that I was able to speak with
However some Abuja Comedians, artistes and media personalities are of the opinion that the organizers did not do a good job at publicizing the show and the basic logistics of some artistes and welfare were not taken good care of, little wonder top comedians like Funny Bone did not even fly into Abuja for the event and the Bad Guyses Abuja based group did not even turn up for the show.
It was like a deliberate act by Abuja people not to attend the event as many complained about the nonchalant attitude of the main organizer. We gathered from a reliable source that even media houses that were coming to cover this organizers event were being asked to pay some money to cover the musical concert. This might be a perfect way of revolting at the Abuja based event organizer who only recently exchanged words at a similar concert for May D with a top Abuja female radio personality over tickets allocated for her station.
Wizkid was quick to take to his twitter page the morning after to tweet

If you ask me wizzy, it hurts and you know it.............I thinks this is a wake up call to artistes and show organizers/promoters as well that humility and respect are the keywords to succeed in the entertainment industry, ask Idris Abdul Kareem and ruggedman how it feels to be "a once upon a time celebrity" and learn from the likes of 2face Idibia, Asha and others. Charisma can take you to the top, but character will keep you there.
xoxo whoopy yun
I'm not really suprised, only comedy shows sell in abuja. Even the super eagles had to run from abuja to calabar cos of poor attendance despite free tickets and buses
