BIONDA CASTANA created the shoe for MATTHEW WILLIAM spring/summer 2014 show

WHEN Matthew Williamson asked the designers behind shoe label Bionda Castana to create the shoes for his spring/summer 2014 show they - despite their busy schedule - just couldn't resist.

Matthew approached us early on in the season to ask if we would be interested in working with him for the show, and we jumped at the chance as we are huge fans of his work.  "He had some ideas already and he felt that our signature shapes would suit his concept and the inspiration for his new collection. We used two existing shapes from previous seasons and reworked them in his fabric choice and colour palette. We also used one of his exclusive prints. The shoes are the perfect addition to the collection this season."
And, after working with Osman to create show shoes for autumn/winter 2012- and following collaborations with rising Brit star Sophie Hulme, Gabriele Colangelo and London print label Vassilisa - the designers have a taste for catwalk shoes, and will also provide styles for the models at Emilio de la Morena tomorrow.
"Emilio wanted to work with basics this season, so our famous Elisabetta and Alessia sandals are what we have both selected to be the right choice for the collection," Barbieri explained, but there still may be more to come: "We would love to work with Roksanda, and Wes Gordon has been on my radar for a while."
