2014 BET awards

The 2014 BET Awards held yesterday Sunday, 29th June 2014 at the Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles. It was a night of electrifying performances, emotional speeches and unforgettable moments.

It was hosted by comedian/actor Chris Rock.

Young Money and Beyoncé both took home three awards, as did acclaimed film “12 Years A Slave” which swept the film award categories.

Our very own Davido scooped up the award for Best International Act  Africa with last year’s winner Ice Prince and actor Sam Sarpong on stage.

Pharrell Williams opened the show with an energetic rendition of “Come Get It Bae” surrounded by a bevy of cheerleaders, and was joined by surprise performer and fellow Virginia native, the amazing Missy Elliott, who brought the crowd to their feet to “Pass That Dutch.”

Williams became a familiar face on the stage after winning both “Best Male R&B/Pop Artist” and “Video of the Year,” and again coming on to present music icon Lionel Richie with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Chris Brown made a triumphant return to the “BET Awards” stage that drew a standing ovation. He proved he hasn’t missed a beat delivering an incredible performance of “Loyal”, which was amped up even more with appearances by Lil Wayne, Tyga and Travis Barker.

Pharrell Williams and August Alsina each won two awards.

Jennifer Hudson showed off her incredibly powerful pipes during a performance of “Walk It Out” and debut of her new single “It’s Your World” as a disco roller derby swirled around her. One of today’s hottest rising stars, Jhené Aiko joined John Legend on stage for one of the most impressive performances of the evening.

Celebrating the 20th anniversary of his first album, Usher performed an action-packed medley of his biggest hits, including “Yeah!”, “Confessions”, “Caught Up” and “Love In This Club”.

Nicki Minaj gave an dramatic Alice In Wonderland-inspired performance of “Chi-Raq” and “Pills N Potions”, filling the stage with giant mushrooms, a contemporary dancer and a white rabbit.

T.I. showed off his lyrical prowess with “No Mediocre”, while Iggy Azalea wowed the crowd with her skills with her hit single “Fancy”.

Fan and crowd favourite August Alsina, whose earlier performance alongside Trey Songz and Chris Brown drew squeals from all of the ladies in the house, took home the Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award.

Robin Thicke gave a mesmerizing performance of “Forever Love”; while surprise performers Troop, Color Me Badd and Silk scored huge cheers, as each group took the stage for their biggest hits for a ’90s throwback medley of “All I Do Is Think of You”; “I Wanna Sex You Up” and “Freak Me”.

Presenter Kerry Washington, making her first television appearance since giving birth to daughter Isabelle in April, got in on the night’s fun with co-presenter Kevin Hart, who tried to convince the crowd that he was, in fact, Oliver Pope, a reference to Kerry’s alter-ego Olivia Pope on her hit show “Scandal”.

Taking a cue from Ellen DeGeneres‘ pizza delivery at this year’s Oscar Awards, Rock provided the audience with a delivery of Roscoe’s Chicken ‘n Waffles, which they accepted with enthusiasm.

Rock had the crowd laughing throughout the night, thanks to his riffs on a range of hot topics, from Donald Sterling to Jay Z and Solange to Dr. Dre and the Beats/Apple deal.

A taped performance of Beyoncé and Jay-Z of “Partition” capped the epic night, which delivered on its promise to be the hottest ticket in town.

The “BET Awards ’14 drew the biggest names in music, entertainment and sports, with appearances by Gabrielle Union, Keke Palmer, Regina Hall, Larenz Tate, Bow Wow, Keshia Chante, Eva Marcille, Terrence Jenkins, Keyshia Cole, Mike Tyson, Nick Cannon, Zendaya, DeSean Jackson, Boris Kodjoe, Gary Owen, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Chadwick Boseman, Tyrese and Nate Parker.

Tim King (Founder, President and CEO of Urban Prep Academies) and Denzel Thompson (a 19-year-old founder and manager of a successful community urban farm and garden) were recognized as the 2014 Shine-A-Light recipients.

The award ceremony will premiere on BET International across Africa tomorrow Tuesday 1st July 2014 at 21:00 WAT | 22:00 CAT (Red carpet begins at 20:00 WAT | 21:00 CAT).

Hmmmmm!!!! chai!!!! i have been munching these pictures and each time i look at it, it drives me crazy because i kept asking myself is this FASHION?

Not everybody can be sexily crazy like Rihanna. When i see some girls and their appalling fashion sense, i wonder which planet they are from. *confused* 

 From hair to makeup, to the dress everything is just screaming wrong!!!!!!!!!!!

 The fashion you want to do and stress the hell out of your boobs is bondage and not fashion.

 This is tacky,crappy,realistically its a piece of rag, looked like she wrapped tissue paper around

ok so this is afro????? *confused* if it aint a carnival girlfriend you are a mad woman on the street.

Rihanna is Covered Up ????????

You might not believe this. my very own riri is all covered up and looking gorgeous on the July 2014 edition of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia.

The 26-year-old, who has been making headlines for making very risqué fashion choices, looks glamorous as she is shot by Ruven Afanador for the issue. Riri rocks a couple of re-imagined Middle-Eastern clothing as well as couture head pieces and veils. And even her famous hand tattoo plays in on the shoot’s arabian theme.

This shoot is a definite plus proving just how worthy Riri was to receive the Fashion Icon Award at the CFDA Fashion Awards 2014. 

if there is anything i love about riri, its her ability to adapt to different kind of fashion, as long as it is fabulous.

Rihanna seems to be on a roll as she is also on the July/August 2014 cover for French magazine – Jalouse rocking a snap back and an over-sized pant suit. The image was taken when Rihanna attended the Givenchy show during the Paris Fashion Week.

Culottes are here too stay?? gotta have it or make it stop?

Ok so i went for wedding and refuse to post since then, laziness i guess *covers face* choi!!! thairiz God oo.

 Anyway, now that i am back to start my fashion rant, i noticed something online and i see some people wear and am wondering if am stale in fashion just because i left for few weeks!!!! Fashion!!!!!!

The Wide Leg Cropped Pants is becoming a chic trend everyone is loving and embracing, designers like Emporium Armani, Alexander Wang and many other designers and high-street stores have come out with beautiful edgy culottes,  I cant say i like it or i dont like it, am still indiffrent about this style, if you like trying new things like me, put away your jergens,Skinny jeans,skorts can also move away too. Because the Culottes are here too stay????

 Some of my very fave celebrities have been seen wearing them on red carpets and events, from Zendaya to Rihanna to Solange to Rita Ora , To Lupito . 

The culottes like i earlier stated are wide leg pants that are made to look like skirts, hence combining the practicality of pants wit the femininity of skirts..These pants are best for spring/Summer yeah, but with naija weather you can rock it other time apart from spring/summer. You can wear them wit your heels, flats,sneakers but remember to keep the top very simple. Take a look at how some of these celebrities styled theirs and get inspired, trust me on that. *wink

The most epic edition of Who Wore It Best ever? Rihanna may have been the talk of this year's CFDA Awards with her body-baring gown, but someone is out to steal her thunder: Peter Griffin from Family Guy! On Tuesday, June 3, tweeted a picture of the beloved cartoon dad wearing an animated version of the same dress (nipples out and all!).  

The fashion face-off started on Monday, June 2, when the 26-year-old singer attended the annual Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards in NYC wearing a sheer, glitzy gown that exposed her nipples and butt. Receiving the 2014 Fashion Icon award at the ceremony, the chanteuse accessorized her custom Adam Selman creation with a glittery head wrap and a strategically placed fur scarf. 

If you ask me Peter sure knows how to rock nude sheer. lol

I have mixed feelings about this news, I am happy its happening in Nigeria but i am unhappy because this is what I have been working on for a long time, but money cheats me........... *crying* chai!!!! dairiz God oooo!!!
